CMF removes Regulatory Files from Information Systems Manual for Banks and Cooperatives to simplify information requirements

Seven Regulatory Files are repealed, decreasing the reporting burden for supervised entities.

September 2, 2026 - The Financial Market Commission (CMF) announces the issuance of Circular Letter No. 2,376, which rationalizes certain information requirements applicable to banks and savings and credit cooperatives by repealing instructions related to seven Regulatory Files from the Information Systems Manuals (ISM).

Circular Letter No. 2,376 specifically repeals obligations related to preparation and submission of Regulatory Files C16, C51, D02, D41, P15, P21, and P22 from the ISM for Banks. It also repeals obligations pertaining to File C51 from the ISM for Savings and Credit Cooperatives.

This amendment is the result of the CMF's permanent review process of its information requirements. Said process safeguards that no unnecessary burdens apply to supervised parties while at the same time ensuring the possession of information required for supervisory purposes, public disclosure, and fulfillment of the various functions entrusted to the CMF.

Due to its simplifying nature, Circular Letter No. 2,376 is issued without a public consultation process and becomes effective one month after its issuance. Thus, Files C16, C51, D02, P15, P21, and P22 must be submitted for the last time in September 2026, while File D41 does not need to be submitted due to its semiannual frequency.
