CMF sanctions two stockbrokers for offering instruments for qualified investors to clients lacking that status
August 25, 2026 - The Board of the Financial Market Commission (CMF), sanctioned two stockbrokers for breaching Section II, Number 3, Paragraph 1 of General Rule No. 380 and General Rule No. 216.
Per Resolution No. 8,642, Valores Security S.A. Corredores de Bolsa was fined UF 150 for offering, between March and May 2024, instruments for qualified investors to 13 clients who had not accredited said status.
Per Resolution No. 8,641, LarrainVial S.A. Corredora de Bolsa was fined UF 200 for offering, between March and May 2024, instruments for qualified investors to 49 clients who had not accredited said status.
These regulations aim to ensure that intermediaries offer their clients products adequate for their risk profile, which did not happen in these cases.
