CMF publishes for consultation Regulatory Compendium for Risk Rating Entities
The proposal consolidates and systematizes the regulations governing these firms.
August 24, 2026 - The Financial Market Commission (CMF) published today, and for the next four weeks, the public consultation of the Regulatory Compendium for Risk Rating Entities (RREs).
This project is part of a broader regulatory review process for entities supervised by the CMF to both modernize and simplify regulations applicable to supervised parties. It groups and consolidates current regulations in a single regulatory body, incorporating updates and improvements aimed at facilitating compliance.
Additionally, the proposal includes provisions to decrease the regulatory burden. Specifically, it establishes the possibility of RREs being established as capital companies and defers from the third to the fifth year the requirement of income derived from security rating services rendered to the same issuer or corporate group not exceeding 15 percent of total income.
Details of the regulatory proposal are available on the Regulations Under Consultation section of the CMF website.
