CMF sanctions Liquitech SpA for charging interest above the Maximum Conventional Rate

July 22, 2026 - The Board of the Financial Market Commission (CMF) decided to sanction Liquitech SpA with a fine of UF 500.

Per Resolution No. 7,352, Liquitech charged interest above the Maximum Conventional Rate (MCR) between August 1 and December 31, 2023 by treating as fees some charges that, pursuant to the recent General Rule No. 484, were to be deemed interest.

To determine the sanction, the Board estimated that the excess charging above the MCR was a one-off effect of the recent entry into force of General Rule No. 484.
