CMF announces Financial Education Month Activities as part of 100 years of banking regulation and supervision in Chile

October 1, 2025 - The Financial Market Commission (CMF) kicks off today the 2025 Financial Education Month, a space focused on the promotion of the population's financial learning, reflection, and well-being. This is a particularly relevant month for the CMF since it coincides with 100 years of banking regulation and supervision in Chile.

The Financial Education Month formally launches tomorrow, October 2, at La Fábrica in Renca. This is a joint event with the Central Bank of Chile, the Superintendence of Pensions, the General Treasury of the Republic, and the National Consumer Service, among others. It includes financial education workshops with female entrepreneurs.

The Commission has prepared a special program for October revolving around four key areas (one per week): Savings and Investments; Fraud and Cybersecurity; Financial Inclusion; and Financial Wellbeing. It will report on and conduct the following activities throughout the month:

  • Daily financial tips on the CMF's social media profiles with practical recommendations for everyday life.
  • Interactive trivia games on CMF Educa to test and strengthen financial knowledge.
  • Talks aimed at women, young people, and older adults (groups prioritized by the National Financial Inclusion Strategy) and adapted to their realities and needs.
  • A webinar open to the public with practical advice on strengthening financial well-being.

Final dates for activities and registration links will be made available in the coming days to facilitate citizens' participation.

The CMF stresses the importance of financial education for people to make informed decisions and better assess risks and opportunities in the financial market. This involves knowing both products and services offered in the market, as well as concepts and places to obtain timely and relevant information.

Financial education is a vital component to develop a more accessible, deep, and resilient financial market that promotes inclusive and sustainable economic growth. The CMF invites citizens to review its Institutional Strategy for Financial Inclusion.

The CMF also invites everyone to visit the special Financial Education Month website and stay informed about this year's news through our social media channels. It also extends a cordial invitation to actively participate in the activities throughout October.
