CMF sanctions seven Professional Sports Organizations for breaching ongoing information duties

November 14, 2025 - The Board of the Financial Market Commission (CMF) sanctioned seven Professional Sports Organizations (PSOs) for breaching their ongoing information duties set forth in General Rule No. 201. Said regulation states that PSOs must submit their annual financial statements before the Commission within the four-month period after the corresponding fiscal year closes. They must also send their quarterly financial statements no later than 30 days after the corresponding calendar quarter closes.

The Resolution stresses the importance of such entities submitting their ongoing information, which allows both the Commission and the public to have updated data on their financial situation.

On May 30, 2025, the CMF informed the National Sports Institute for the purposes it deems appropriate based on its attributions that these PSOs had failed to submit their ongoing financial information in a timely manner.
